Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter everyone!! As you can tell from the picture - Brooklynn is less than thrilled with the Easter Bunny, but we had to get a picture for her first Easter.

She wasn't sure what to think of the big thing, nor did she want to stay on his lap, so we were lucky to even get a shot. Excuse her pant legs around her thighs though - it really is a cute outfit.

Janelle, a long time friend, came into town with her family, so we met them at Colorado Mills. We walked around the mall and realized the Easter Bunny was there and no one was in line, so we seized the moment and got a picture, even though she was due for a nap and quite grumpy. Oh well, I think it is still cute.

Got It!!

We finally got it...her birth certificate!! Yahoo - we are pretty excited. We can't explain how good it feels to see our names on a legal document, as her mother and father. Even though she has been "our daughter" this whole time, it just solidifies everything that much more. If we hadn't gone through the loss of Brayden, we might not feel so strongly about everything, but in the backs of our minds, I think we still fear that all of our happiness and joy could be taken away again. As the time passes, our fears have subsided, but it unfortunately still exists.

Bottom line, she is ours and we are hers. What a great feeling. :-)

Now I get to venture down to the Social Security office, so our taxes can be filed. Good timing!!

Annual CT- Scan

Just wanted to share some exciting news. Last week I had my annual CT-Scan and today my doctor called to say everything looks good. Thank God. I have really been stressing over it, especially since he called Monday and I didn't get the message until Monday night, after his office was closed of course, then he was in surgery all day yesterday, so the last couple of days have been rather long. Regardless, I have my annual visit with him in April, but so far he is very pleased with the test results. What a sigh of relief!!

More Better Times

Yes..I'm playing catch up, so hang in there. Here are some other fun times that we have had lately and I was too lazy to get pictures added. We went to the aquarium with Athena, Alexis, Jack and a friend of Athena's.

Brooklynn had a lot of fun watching all the fish swim around. Afterwards, we went to the kids area and had lunch. The weather was amazing that day, so most people were out enjoying the sun. It was great for us, as we could get close to the exhibits and didn't have to deal with large crowds. It was so much fun. We got a pass, so we plan on going alot more during the year.

Okay, now a more recent outing - The Kids Expo. We went with Grandma Di, Tiana and Keira and had alot of fun. We were surprised at some of the stands, as there wasn't as much as we hope for kids, but anyway, it was pretty fun. The girls got to ride ponies - a first for both of them and Keira got to jump in the bouncy house. Little Monkey Business had a small area for little kids, so both girls had a great time in there and played on the rocking duck and mats. Brooklynn also had another first - riding the lite rail.

Better Times

Even though Brookie has been sick, we have had some good times lately. Her friend Teagan and Mom Alison have had a couple of slumber parties with us. Alison and Teagan baby sat Brooklynn, so we could have an big kids dinner with Rob and Athena. Happy Birthday Rob!!

The girls enjoyed a bath together..sorry Brooklynn, I know you are going to kill me for all the silly bath tub pictures, but you are so cute.

We even went over their house and went swimming and out to lunch. We had a great time and are so thankful to have found a good friend for Brooklynn and a good friend for Mommy.

Where Oh Where?

Where oh where has the time gone. I have been absolutely awful about updating this and I really regret it. Anyway - not sure where to start, except to give a few excuses for my lack of follow through. Little Brooklynn has had a pretty rough winter with being sick (as stated in the previous posts). She has had RSV 2x, pink eye, the flu and has a cold again. In February, she even had her first trip to the ER, a second trip to the ER and finally was admitted into Children's - due to RSV. She had to come home on oxygen and stayed on it for a week. I had no idea what to expect with the oxygen and I was nothing less than frightened at the thought, but all went well. We kinda got used to tagging the 60 ft hose with us, but the dogs didn't think much of it. They ran anytime it got close to them. I was kinda glad, as I had visions of Lola chewing holes in it and not being able to get a new hose. Anyway, we all survived it!

No, she isn't drugged (Athena), this is her with pink eye...so sad. It broke my heart to see her little eye like that.

The second picture is her with her friend Larry (Veggie Tales) and Grammy, in the hospital. Even though she was in the hospital..she was still stylish!

Pink Eye Now - One thing after another

I got the call from Day Care on Wednesday that Ms Brooklynn had pink eye. Her eye was totally fine Wed morning when I dropped her off, but by 1 pm, there was no doubt she had pink eye. She has been on the meds for two days now and is looking alot better. Now we just need to get her Daddy healthy. He has been sick for a week and went to the doctor today. They said he has a GI bug and gave him meds that really knock him out.

Last Friday was Brooklynn's 6-month check up. Dr Stanga wants her to have nightly pulmocort nebs and stay on the reflux medicine. Not thrilled about giving her steroids, but we need to do everything we can to keep her little lungs healthy. As you can tell from her pictures, she is a big girl - weight is 18 lbs 12 oz (95%) and height is 26 in (75%)!!

The latest thing she is doing is so cute...she dances to music. Our little girl has rhythm!! :-) Her dancing consists of bopping her head, but it is so dang cute!

We heard that my cousins, Jason and Jon, both got engaged over the holidays, so we are pretty happy for them and look forward to their weddings this summer. We also asked Jon and his fiance, Pam, to be Brooklynn's God parents. Grandma Di is in the process of helping plan her baptism, so that will also be happening in the coming months.

Nothing else new to report...same old thing. Brooklynn is eating solids very well now and is sitting up great. She loves her toys and plays quite well.

Looking forward to the weekend. Going to see my sister, Tiana, and Keira, as well as Di and Grandma Reid. It should be a good time!!
